How To Make Vanilla Sugar Scrub

Scrubs are a great way to moisturize while exfoliating hands and body. Sugar scrub removes dead skin cells and brings out the soft and moisturized skin underneath. Vanilla sugar scrub can be used on the face, lips, and body. Your skin will feel amazing after using the sugar scrub. The warm scent of vanilla is known to be relaxing and uplifting, making it a sensory experience.

Vanilla Sugar Scrub Recipe

You can use any oil that works best for you, though we have used coconut and olive oil in both the vanilla sugar scrub recipes. Different types of sugars are used for other body parts. White sugar is great for lips and the face as it is finer in texture, brown sugar is for body scrub, and raw turbinado sugar is for feet and hands, which is rough on the skin. Please note, if you have any allergies to the listed ingredients, it's best to avoid using this scrub.

Recipe 1: DIY Vanilla Sugar Scrub

This vanilla sugar scrub recipe has a few more ingredients than the second one. We have added vitamin E oil for extra softness and nutmeg for additional exfoliation.

DIY Vanilla Sugar Scrub

As we all know, coconut oil provides top-notch moisturization compared to any other oil, even against the driest skin type. Adding vanilla extracts enhances the scent of the scrub, giving it a nostalgic fragrance.

Ingredients:

  • Clove - ⅛ Teaspoon
  • Ginger - ¼ Teaspoon
  • Nutmeg - ¼ Teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - ½ Teaspoon
  • Vitamin E Oil - ½ Teaspoon
  • Virgin Coconut Oil - 1 Cup
  • Vanilla Extract - 1 Tablespoon
  • Raw or Granulated Sugar - 2 Cups
Utensils:
  • Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Airtight Container

Directions:

Step 1: Add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, and granulated sugar in a bowl.

Step 2: Add 1 cup of coconut oil, one tablespoon of vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of vitamin E oil.

Step 3: Mix them all together. Store vanilla sugar scrub in an airtight container to preserve the freshness.

Recipe 2: DIY Warm Vanilla Sugar Scrub

In this warm vanilla sugar scrub, we have only used three ingredients that are easily available in the market. This sugar scrub recipe is so simple you can whip it up in a few minutes.

DIY Warm Vanilla Sugar Scrub

  • Virgin Olive Oil - ½ Cup
  • Raw Turbinado Cane Sugar - 3 Cups
  • Vanilla Essential Oil - A Few Drops
Utensils:
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Airtight Container

Directions:

Step 1: Add 3 cups of turbinado cane sugar along with ½ cup of virgin olive oil and a few drops of vanilla essential oil.

Step 2: Mix religiously until all the ingredients are combined. Take the airtight container and store it in a cool, dry place.

How To Use Vanilla Sugar Scrub

Damp your skin with water, take a scoop of warm vanilla sugar scrub, and rub it in your palms to soften the mixture with the body heat for 30 seconds. Rub it on your body in a circular motion; after scrubbing, rinse it off with cold water and pat dry. Remember, avoid using the scrub on broken or irritated skin, and if you experience any discomfort, discontinue use.

How To Use Vanilla Sugar Scrub

There you have it ultra soft skin, just after a few uses. If your skin type is normal, you can use the scrub twice a week, but if it is sensitive, then use it once a week. However, if you experience any redness, irritation, or discomfort after using the scrub, it's best to discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.

Conclusion

Vanilla sugar scrubs are a delightful option for pampering your skin while keeping it moisturized and smooth with a touch of sweetness. They effectively remove dead skin and reveal smoother, brighter skin, while the coconut and olive oil in the recipe deeply moisturize. You can personalize your scrub with different sugars, essential oils, and carrier oils, making it a truly unique product.

Homemade scrubs, while they don't contain any preservatives and typically have a shorter shelf life, are a testament to the power of natural ingredients. Store them in a cool, dry place and use sugar scrubs within 4-6 months. Vanilla sugar scrubs are a perfect way to indulge in self-care at home, knowing that you're using a product that's both effective and safe for your skin.
