A new trend has started where everyone is trying to find natural and organic products for health and environmental concerns.
Gradually there is also a shift in the cosmetic industry where everyone wants chemical-free products. However, there is no guarantee that these products will be perfect for your unique skin tone and skin type.

To resolve that issue we give you a mineral makeup recipe and how you can mix and match the ingredients to the best of your skin’s preference.
Mineral makeup is suitable for all skin types especially oily and sensitive skin as it also helps in oil control and does not contain harmful chemicals.
What is Mineral Makeup?
Mineral makeup does not incorporate fancy chemicals that might feel heavy on the skin. Instead, it uses crushed minerals such as zinc oxide and mica.
These minerals sit on top of your skin like regular makeup enabling a natural-looking coverage without clogging the pores. It also helps in controlling excess oil production on the face.
Why Choose DIY Mineral Makeup?
Mineral makeup is free from harsh chemicals making them the best product for sensitive skin. This makeup is environmentally friendly as what comes from nature goes back to nature due to the ingredients being natural.
Also when we formulate the recipe from scratch we tend to save a lot on the cost compared to the store-bought products which are overpriced for a minute quantity.

Apply it on your face in an outward stroke. Build coverage as needed. For extra staying power, dust on a translucent setting powder. You can enjoy your flawless look.
How to Adjust Shades for Every Skin Tone
Adjust shades per skin tone because undertones and seasonal changes affect depth, helping prevent ashiness and oxidation, and ensuring makeup complements the complexion.

1. Fair Skin
Fair skin suits shades chosen by undertone, such as cool, warm, or neutral hues. Fair skin foundations use mostly yellow iron oxide, with minimal red and black. When adjusting shades for each skin tone, avoid looking ashy or pale.
2. Medium Skin
Warm beiges, golden, honey, caramel, and sand tones are ideal for medium skin tones. You also need to balance the warmth and brightness of shades for medium skin. Medium skin coverage needs warm undertones, buildable formulas, and seasonal adjustments for blending.
3. Dusky/Deep Skin
The best deep-skin pigments use warm color additions, avoiding black, which can cause grey tones. This can enhance warmth in skin tone without greying. When adjusting shades for dusky or deep skin, avoid the white cast left by mineral ingredients.
4. Warm vs Cool Undertones
Warm Undertones:
Warm undertones suit rich, earthy, and golden shades like yellows, corals, warm reds, golds, olives, and browns. Ice hues, blue-greys, icy pastels, and strong blue bases are bad for warm undertones.
Cool Undertones:
Instead of golden or yellow mineral colors, cool undertone mineral color blends include pink, blue, red, or violet. Use cool-toned makeup, light blending, cool blush and eyeshadows, plus silver jewelry for a natural glow with cool undertones.
Conclusion
With a few simple ingredients and this recipe, you can formulate your very own mineral foundation. You get to experiment with different colors and mica powders to match the foundation to your skin color. Mineral makeup is lightweight, breathable makeup that enhances natural beauty.
