Lotion bars are like little bars of soap, but they are made to provide moisturisation instead of cleaning, making them an essential product in a self-care and skincare regime. They quickly melt on contact with warm skin, providing long-lasting moisturisation. They are simple to craft and leave your body smelling amazing.
Additionally, they are packed with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-bacterial agents due to the incorporation of essential oils. These are highly recommended for dry and sensitive skin, making them suitable for all skin types.
What Are Lotion Bars
Lotion bars are the lotion only in solid form. They are made from natural butter, essential oils, and fragrance oil. They are water-free, unlike traditional lotions, as they contain water and provide less moisturisation.
Due to the absence of water, they do not contain preservatives required to avoid product contamination. When lotion bars come in contact with the skin, they absorb the heat produced from the body and gently glide over, providing a thick and rich layer of lotion.
Benefits of Beeswax Lotion Bars
Lotion bars are beneficial for the skin and are also convenient for travelling and reducing carbon footprint as they are mostly made from natural ingredients.
- Travel Friendly: Solid and mess-free describes the lotion bars, making them ideal for travelling. They only require a little space in your bags compared to liquid lotions.
- Suitable For All Skin Types: One can create a lotion bar for their skin type by selecting the right ingredients. You can use butters like kokum and shea for deep hydration for dry skin. For oily skin that requires light hydration, jojoba oil would be a perfect match, and it does not clog pores.
- Intense and Long-lasting Moisturization: They are packed with concentrated butter and oils, offering long-lasting and intense hydration compared to some liquid lotions. They gently glide on the skin, providing a rich, creamy layer that absorbs quickly.
- Eco-friendly: As lotion bars are solid, they do not require plastic bottle packaging, leading to reduced environmental waste. It is convenient to find sustainable packaging options for storing lotion bars.
- Natural Ingredients: When you craft DIYs, you have complete control over the quality and quantity of the products and what goes on to your skin. This allows you to choose natural ingredients that are gentle and suitable to your skin type.
