  • distilled water (1/2 cup)
  • water-soluble PF Preservative (1/8 teaspoon)

Recipe & Uses

  1. Combine rosehip seed oil, evening primrose oil, emulsifying wax, and water in a small glass dish or wide-mouth pint mason jar.
  2. Place the bowl/jar in a small pan filled with just a few inches of water to make a small double-boiler (the water should not come higher than halfway up the side of the bowl or jar).
  3. Warm over medium-low heat in the pan on the stovetop. The water should be heating but not simmering. Maintain the heat until all of the emulsifying wax has melted.
  4. Remove the bowl/jar from the pan and turn off the stove. Please be cautious, since it will be really hot! Placing the jar on a heat-safe surface is a good idea.
  5. Blend this mixture with your stick blender. The mixture will develop a creamy white color, akin to heavy cream.
  6. Allow the cream to cool fully in the container. Add the preservative once the cream has cooled fully, which should take several hours. Mix well. Your cream is now ready to use.
