Organic Lip Balm Making Kit | Make Your Own Lip Balms
Jojoba Oil (Cold Pressed)
Castor Oil (Cold Pressed)
Orange Essential Oil, Frankincense/Geranium Essential Oil
Instructions for making Lip BalmLayout the Equipment - You will need a Glass / Stainless steel bowl for making Lip Balm. Ready the lip balm tubes OR the glass jar for setting the balm.
Melt the Beeswax - Melt 1 pouch of Beeswax (8.8gms) in the bowl using a double boiler. (Double Boiler - Heat water in a large pot and keep the container with the Beeswax on top of this water to apply gentle heat rather than harsh direct flame to the Beeswax.)
Wear gloves and use the Spatula to blend.
Add Cocoa Butter - Once Beeswax is completely melted, Add 1 Pouch of Cocoa Butter (5.2gms) to the hot bowl. Blend them together till completely melted and turn off the heat.
Add the Oils - While the bowl is still hot, add the Cold pressed Castor Oil (15ml) and Cold pressed Jojoba Oil (15ml) to the hot Wax & Butter mix and start blending with the spatula. Blend carefully, just till the mixture combines. Do not over blend as we want a balm consistency and not a butter consistency.
Additives - At this point the Lip Balm mix will still be hot and runny. Now add the Cocoa Powder or Turmeric first, and then add the Geranium or Oragne + Frankincense essential oil. Essential oils are added in the end to retain maximum fragrance.
Pour into 8 Tubes or Glass Jar - Once the Essential Oils+Additives are well combined in the hot & runny Lip Balm mix, pour the mix carefully into the lip balm tubes/glass jar. Tap the tubes a few times so that the lip balm gets evenly set with no air pockets.
Leave to Set - Leave to set for a few minutes, or you can put the lip balm tubes / glass jar with the lid closed in the refrigerator for a quick set. Use the given labels to give your Lip Balms a professional look.
Ready to Use - We are sure you enjoyed making your Organic Lip Balm! You can replicate this recipe any number of times and also experiment with different essential oils, herbal colors etc
