Whimsical Daisy Flower Glass Candle

Inspired by the incredibly popular Wrapped Whimsy Hampers Scented Glass Daisy Flower Candle, this multicolour floral embed container candle is a phenomenal high-margin addition to your artisanal home decor line! The secret to this stunning, multi-textured boutique candle lies in mastering a two-part wax formulation. We use VedaOils' clean-burning Soy Wax Slab as the primary jar fill for a smooth, flawless melt pool. However, for the intricate daisy decorations on top, we switch to structurally dense Yellow Beeswax Pellets. This prevents the delicate floral embeds from crumbling when demolded or melting too quickly when the candle is lit. Scented with our blooming Jasmine Fragrance Oil and vibrantly tinted with Pink and Yellow Candle Colors, this highly scalable project yields market-ready luxury candles that customers will adore!

  • Yield: 5 Glass Candles

Ingredients

  • Water

Equipment & Tools

  • Double Boiler or Microwave
  • 2 Heat-Safe Pouring Pitchers
  • Thermometer
  • Skewer or Stirring Utensils
  • Clothespins

Instructions

  1. Prep Jars & Wicks: Thoroughly clean your Yankee Glass Candle Jars. Dip the metal tab of your Pre-Waxed Candle Wicks into a tiny bit of melted wax and secure them to the bottom center of each jar. Use a clothespin to hold each wick taut and perfectly upright.
  2. Craft the Daisy Embeds: In a small pitcher melt 150g of Yellow Beeswax Pellets using a double boiler. Once melted divide it into two small cups. Color one with a pinch of Pink Candle Color and the other with Yellow Candle Color. Scent lightly with Jasmine Fragrance Oil. Pour the waxes into your Flower Shape Silicone Mold and let them harden completely (about 45 minutes).
  3. Melt the Jar Base: In a larger pouring pitcher weigh and melt 500g of the Soy Wax Slab until it reaches 185° F. Remove from heat and stir in 30ml of Jasmine Fragrance Oil for 2 minutes to ensure the scent perfectly binds with the wax matrix.
  4. Pour the Base: Let the scented soy wax cool to around 140° F then slowly pour it into your wicked glass jars leaving about an inch of room at the top. Allow the wax to cool until a semi-solid opaque skin forms on the surface but the wax underneath is still warm and pliable.
  5. Assemble the Whimsy: Carefully unmold your hardened pink and yellow beeswax daisies. Gently press the flat bottoms of the flowers into the semi-solid top of the soy wax base arranging them beautifully around the wick. Allow the completed candles to cure undisturbed for 3 to 5 days before trimming the wicks to a quarter inch and labeling them for retail!

Notes

Safety Warning: Never leave melting wax unattended on a heat source!

Pro Tip: Timing is everything when assembling embed candles! Ensure the soy wax base in the jar has formed a semi-solid "skin" on top before placing your beeswax daisies otherwise the heavy flowers will sink right to the bottom!
