Homemade Ubtan Soap – Ayurvedic Cleanser for Glowing Skin

The word "ubtan" originated from Urdu and Hindi, and it is widely used in South Asian cultures, particularly in India and Pakistan. Have you ever wondered how to harness the age-old benefits of ubtan in a soap you can use every day?

Homemade Ubtan Soap

It is possible that you can make and use ubtan soap as an ayurvedic cleanser for glowing skin at home. Keep reading this blog to know how.

What is Ubtan Soap?

Ubtan soap is a traditional Ayurvedic soap that is crafted from natural ingredients, including oils, spices, and botanicals. It is frequently employed in India due to its numerous epidermis benefits.

Ubtan Soap Benefits

Every woman considers including ubtan soap in her everyday beauty routine. Here are the benefits, and why:

  1. Brightens & evens the skin tone.
Ubtan soap, rich in turmeric and saffron, brightens and enhances skin tone, reduces black spots, and provides a healthy glow with regular use.
  2. Exfoliates Dead Skin
Ubtan soap is a beneficial exfoliant since it removes dead skin cells and impurities from the skin, making it soft and smooth.
  3. Detoxifies & Reduces Tan
Ubtan soap effectively cleanses pores, detoxifies skin, and leaves it refreshed and energized. Multani Mitti, when used in ubtan soap, deeply cleanses the skin and effectively removes tan.
  1. Soothes Acne & Blemishes
Ubtan soap can help eliminate blemishes and regulate oil production, keeping acne-prone skin under control. The turmeric ingredient in this soap is quite useful for preventing and treating acne outbreaks.
  2. Balances oil.
By absorbing extra oil, constricting pores, and removing dead cells from the skin, ubtan soap, a traditional Ayurvedic paste, can control the amount of oil produced by the skin.
  3. All-Natural & Gentle
Ubtan soap, a natural and gentle cleanser, is crafted from ingredients like turmeric, chickpea flour, oats, etc., providing a soothing, chemical-free experience for those seeking a gentle and natural cleansing solution.

Ubtan Soap Ingredients (Natural & Skin-Friendly)

The following ingredients are found in the majority of traditional ubtan soap recipes:

  • Gram flour (Besan)
Organic gram flour (besan) is a natural ingredient that deeply cleanses and exfoliates the skin, providing smoothness, brightness, and a translucent appearance.
  • Turmeric powder
Turmeric's anti-inflammatory properties can reduce acne and scars, soothe skin pores, diminish black stains, and balance skin tone. Its skin-brightening effects can remove hyperpigmentation, aiding in the recovery process from acne issues.
  • Sandalwood powder
Sandalwood powder is known for its soothing, softening, anti-inflammatory, and cooling effects and hydrating properties, which help reduce redness and promote smoother and healthier-looking skin.
  • Multani Mitti (Fuller's Earth)
Multani mitti, also known as Fuller's Earth, is renowned for its ability to absorb excess oils and detoxification, making it an excellent choice for oily and acne-prone skin.

  • Neem powder
Neem (Azadirachta indica) is a medicinal plant that is well known for its ability to kill germs, viruses, fungi, and malaria.
  • Oat powder
A mild exfoliator with a grainy texture, oatmeal powder—especially colloidal oatmeal—contains ingredients that calm sensitive skin while also removing dead skin cells.
  • Honey or aloe vera gel
Honey is a natural humectant, which means it absorbs moisture and seals it into the skin. Humectants, which are also present in aloe vera, help the skin retain moisture.
  • Essential oils
Essential oils like rose, sandalwood, and turmeric are commonly used in ubtan soaps due to their unique skin benefits, enhancing the soap's therapeutic properties.
  • Melt and pour soap base
Goat's milk contains vitamins A, D, and E, which assist in nourishing and revitalizing the skin. The combination of shea butter and goat's milk is mild, making it excellent for sensitive or dry skin.
