  • Large bowl

  • Loaf mold

Step by Step Directions

Steps: 1 Wear gloves for protection.

Steps: 2 Pour distilled Water and apple cider into the heat-safe jug. Then, slowly add sodium hydroxide to the measured quantity.

Steps: 3 Add ground ginger and cinnamon powder into the mix.

Steps: 4 Mix them properly and allow the lye mixture to reach 38-43 degrees Celsius.

Steps: 5 Melt shea butter and coconut oil in a saucepan.

Steps: 6 Measure sunflower or sweet almond and olive oil and add to the mixture.

Steps: 7 Add them both together when the lye mixture reaches the mentioned temperature and is the same temperature as the oils.

Steps: 8 Mix the soap batter with an immersion blender (stick blender) until it reaches a light trace.

Steps: 9 Add in the essential oils. It may cause the soap batter to thicken up.

Steps: 10 Now, the soap batter is ready to be transferred into the mold.

Steps: 11 You can also create some designs or patterns on the soap batter (optional).

Steps: 12 Use a wax sheet or freezer sheet to loosely cover the molds. Then, take a flimsy towel or blanket and wrap it around the mold.

Steps: 13 The mixture might warm up due to apple cider and spices. So, keep checking the soap batter to ensure it won’t develop any cracks; if it does, move it to a more relaxed area.

Steps: 14 Allow the soap to cool down for at least 24 hours.

Steps: 15 When the soap hardens, please remove it from the mold and cut it into bars.

Steps: 16 Again, leave the soap bar to cure for 3-4 weeks.

Conclusion

Creating your cinnamon soap bar is a creative and fun activity for pampering yourself and crafting gifts. The warm and spicy cinnamon scent adds a delightful touch, while its natural properties can benefit some skin types. However, it is always ideal to do a patch test to ensure cinnamon doesn’t cause any irritation on the skin.
